Bear hibernation shortened due to mild winter

Throughout the northern hemisphere, the winter has been particularly mild … to the point of shortening the hibernation time of the bears.

Unusually early revivals have been seen in the United States, Russia, Europe, but also in Canada.

In Banff National Park, the first grizzly bear was spotted on February 28.

Usually, large males come out in mid-March in this region, and females follow a few weeks later.

Remember that winter 2020 will be the warmest on record in Europe.
