Tragic hike for a father and daughter
A hike ended in tragedy for an Ontario father and his 4-year-old daughter who were found dead late Sunday evening in the Rattlesnake Point wildlife reserve in Milton, just over 50 km southwest of Toronto.
Their bodies were spotted at the foot of a cliff around 11 p.m. Sunday. They suffered a trauma that appears to be consistent with the result of a fall, Halton regional police told CP24 on Monday.
Homicide investigators were on site to examine the scene. No scenario was excluded.

The father and daughter started their hike in the middle of the afternoon and were scheduled to return around 5:30 p.m. Their disappearance was reported to the authorities around 7:30 p.m. Searches were then undertaken in the Rattlesnake Point wildlife reserve.
“It was not a standard search,” said Steve Elms of the Halton Regional Police at CP24. The area is wide. It’s very forest with a cliff and rocks. ”
The girl’s identity has been revealed. It’s Keira Kagan, according to CP24. She lived with her mother and stepfather. Her father came to pick her up on Friday to spend the weekend with him.
“Keira was the most special girl you could ask for. My best friend, the most wonderful and generous daughter. The most sensational big sister for my little one, ”said her mother Jennifer.
