Thousands of British Columbians rushed to the BC Parks website to reserve a campsite for this summer on Monday, but the traffic caused a computer outage, which caused much dissatisfaction among followers of nature. If it is too late to book the dates she had set herself, Ms. Duchesne hopes to be able to turn to private campsites to enjoy the summer season with the family without thwarting her plans too much. Last year, on the same date, 1,100 reservations were generally made every day on the website, while this year, 800 reservations were processed in the first 30 minutes. Many people have therefore come up against computer problems and a continuously busy telephone line while trying to reserve a place. Several provincial parks opened on May 14, but limited access for day use but not campers.
